    Cool It
    By Todd

Cool down on a hot day with a treat, like swirled soft-serve ice cream on a sugar cone, a malted milkshake, or a banana boat. Take shade at an umbrella-covered patio table. Even dogs can enjoy their own doggie bowl of vanilla ice cream garnished with a milk bone.

Dim Sum in an Oasis of Calm
    By Todd

Sometimes International Drive can seem chaotic. Luckily, there's an oasis of calm at Ming Court. Within its inviting green tiled walls are koi fish ponds and a serene garden of bamboo, water lilies, and lotus. Locals in the know go for dim sum. Asian families pack the restaurant (always a good sign) by lunchtime. At only about $5 per tin/dish, dim sum is an affordable brunch alternative.

With oodles of dumplings to choose from, some good choices are the BBQ pork dumplings (fluffy white buns filled with Peking-red ribbons of pork) and the shrimp and chive dumplings (silky rice dumplings, pan-seared, and filled with a savory mixture).

    Tuna Tatika

Butter-like tuna appetizers, signature slider trios, and seriously hearty salads are some of my favorites at Crave. Half-price happy hour is a standout option. Serving fusion fare while serving the community, this restaurant also hosts local designer fashion shows and social media meet-ups. Crave is at Conroy Road and Millenia Boulevard, near the entrance of the Mall of Millenia.

Go to B.B. King's Blues Club at Pointe Orlando for blues and dancing, but stay for the comfort food, such as barbecue. The atmosphere is inviting, with brightly painted wooden picnic tables, an intimate upstairs bar overlooking the stage, and a black-and-white tiled dance floor.

    Green and Stress-free I-Ride Trolley

Traffic on International Drive can get hectic. For a stress-free ride, take the I-Ride Trolley with two lines that travel the 20-mile I-Drive circuit. The Red Line runs north and south, beginning at the Orlando Premium Outlets. The Green Line arrives at Major Boulevard and runs along Universal Boulevard and Kirkman Road. The I-Ride Trolley route map provides locations.
